200901 - DPC-INGV S3 Seis
Abstract
2009-01-15 to 2009-05-31
The stations will be used within the Seismological projects DPC-INGV 2007-2009 ITALIAN STRONG MOTION DATA BASE. The main objective of this Project is to make available through the Internet an updated and improved release of the Italian accelometer database (ITACA), originally developed within project S6, in the framework of the 2004-2006 DPC-INGV agreement. In particular we are involved in the task: Site characterization with surface wave methods. Using the seismic stations provided by GIPP a temporary network for earthquakes monitoring will be installed in the Norcia basin (Central Italy) from January to May 2009. Afterwards the equipment will be used to carry out Vs velocity profiles by means of micro-array noise measurements at selected sites close to the Civil Defense National Accelerometric Stations. The selected stations are about 10 and located within the Emilia-Romagna and Basilicata Regions, respectively north and south Italy.
