201105 - MIIC Seis
Abstract
2011-04-15 to 2011-10-31
MIIC Project The MIIC - Monitoring and Imaging based on Interferometric Concepts project, funded within the BMBF/DFG Sonderprogramm GEOTECHNOLOGIEN, aims at developing new imaging and monitoring strategies based on approaches exploiting measurements of scattered waves and seismic noise. The development of tools for quasi-real time monitoring of the temporal changes in the structure is of particular interest for MIIC (4D tomography). The instruments will deployed in Central Asia, being Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan the main target countries, to monitor a landslide and/or an urban environment (e.g. Dushanbe). Furthermore, these activities well fit within the aim of CGO-CA, and will also contribute to the EMCA (Earthquake Model Central Asia), the GEM (Global Earthquake Model) regional program coordinated by GFZ.
